About

Relax, Diane has the details covered.

Diane O’Brien has more than 19 years’ experience preparing taxes. She specializes in consulting for small business owners and the self employed. But what really sets Diane apart is she’s more just another financial expert; in fact, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY. And she uses her background to help her clients—many of them actors, writers, artists, and musicians—with a creative, fresh, and resourceful approach to finances.

Name any type of tax preparation, and chances are she’s done it: Individual returns. Corporate returns. Partnerships. Fiduciary and estate-tax preparation. Diane is licensed to file taxes electronically in all 50 states.

Diane formed her own practice in 1997. Prior to that, she served as a senior manager at Tax Man, Inc. in Cambridge, assisting her clients with back-tax returns and audits. Representing more than 500 people, Diane prepared the highest volume of income in company history, and earned multiple awards for customer service in the process.

Diane also managed and consulted for the Coyote Theatre and other arts organizations in the Boston area. In addition to financial responsibilities, she also managed the day-to-day operations of the theatrical productions.

Diane has earned her distinguished Treasury Card. As an Enrolled Agent, Diane is certified by the US Treasury Department to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service. And she’s helped several clients in tax audits with the IRS and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In addition, Diane negotiates payment plans and solves tax problems with all taxing authorities.

Diane lives with her husband, Tom, and their daughter, Sarah in Swampscott, Massachusetts.
